Valentine’s Party

This year our home school group decided to make valentine’s and take them to a local nursing home to hand out.  All of the kids did such a great job of interacting with the residents that we plan to go back at Easter and kind of adopt this place for our group to go to.    After they handed out cards they sang songs for the residents while they were having their coffee/cookie time.  Then we went back to a friend’s and made Valentine Cookies, had snack, and a devotional about God’s Love.   I feel so blessed to be a part of such a great group of women and their children.

Snow Pictures

Here are some of this years snow pictures.  I could not keep the kids inside.  Two different times Grant stayed out so long that his shirt sleeves froze to the insides of his coat and gloves.

Rejoice and Be Glad Music Classes

I began giving piano to a friend’s daughter last May.  Things have gone well and I decided to add some more individual piano students and some group preschool classes.  Last week was the first week for those and things went great.  It was sooo much fun.  I don’t know who had more fun the kids, or me.

Upward Basketball

In January Grant started playing Upward Basketball.  He loves it and has so much fun each week.  He ended up randomly getting on a team with two of his best buds Emilio and Bailey.  Chris is his team’s assistant coach.

Merideth’s Birthday Party

This year Merideth and her friend Noah had a joint birthday party at The Bubble swimming pool.  Here are some pics.  she wanted to have a My Little Pony Cake.  My friend Maricela helped me decorate.  Well, actually I only drew the picture for the outline and did some of the detail work and the grass.  I tried to start on it without her and stopped after the grass.  Thanks Maricela o:)

Jeff City Trip

Chris and I were invited by our neigbors to go to Jeff City for all of the governor’s inagural activities back in January.  Our neighbor Scott is our State Representative for our district.  We had a wonderful time.  They took us to a great pizza place called Aris’ on Sunday Night, it was so yummy.  On Monday morning we watched the inaguration of the new governor (not my pick) and some other elected officials.  It was really neat to see.  After it was over Chris was excited to get to talk to Former Governor John Ashcroft and have his picture made with him.  Our friend took us on a tour and took us to the house floor where he explained how everything works and what takes place there each day.  It was very informative and I learned a lot from him.  That night was the governor’s ball which took place on the Rotunda Floor of the Capitol Building.  It was sooo much fun.  We did dance to one song.  I was really surprised that Chris even agreed to that.  After we finished dancing we were walking around the capitol looking at other offices and looked out the window and it was snowing, hard.  It was so pretty.  We are so thankful to have a Godly, christian man representing our district.

Cinderella Ball

Chris and Merideth went to a Cinderella Ball last weekend.  Merideth had been making Chris practice dancing for weeks.  She loved to spin and twirl around.  They had a great time together and Merideth won a door prize of free bowling passes with her “magical number”.  She is definitelymy child though, when I asked her to tell me about the ball the next morning, she started naming everything that she ate while she was there.  We put her hair up the day before in little rollers so she would have curls.  Here are a few photos of that process:o)
